Davido’s ‘Fall’ sets Record In Billboard Chat history

Davido’s ‘Fall’, released in 2017 is still doing wonders as it has chalked yet another success.

The song whose video holds the record as the most streamed Nigerian music video on YouTube has now become the longest charting Nigerian song on Billboard – a platform which tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in the United States and elsewhere.

‘Fall’, produced by Kiddominat, made its Billboard debut in 2018 and has been on the chart for four weeks in a row. This week, the song moved 10 places up as it sits on the 29th position.

It is instructive to note that the likes of Wizkid, Burna Boy, Adekunle Gold, Asa, Patoranking and Simi have been on the chart before but none stayed there for four weeks.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Davido appeared to have been taken aback as he expressed amazement.

Davido is by far one of the richest and most successful musicians on the planet. He came into limelight in 2011, after his song “Back When” which featured rap artist Naeto C gained popularity.

He has since released countless hit songs, had an astounding audience appeal, signed mouthwatering endorsement deals and sold out events.

Davido is known to be the only Nigerian celebrity to have received the highest number of awards. Among the schemes are BET Awards, KORA Awards, Channel O Awards, Nigeria Music Video Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards, Magazines Awards, The Headies Awards as well as the MOBO Awards.

In 2018, he made history as the first African-based artist to receive a BET Award on the main stage.

The sweetheart of Chioma recently had an incredibly sold out concert at the iconic 20,000 seater London O2 Arena and has received commendations from many, including Sean Paul in that regard.

Davido is the son of popular Nigerian business mogul Chief Adedeji Adeleke, founder of Adeleke University, Osun state, and also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pacific Holdings.
