According to Anti-discrimination group Fare Network, sexism has been a big problem at the Russia World Cup. They have watched a lot of zooming in on hot women in crowds during football matches.
This crackdown is a policy which will become an official FIFA policy.
“This is one of the activities we definitely will have in future – it’s a normal evolution,” said Federico Addiechi, FIFA’s Head of Sustainability & Diversity.
“We have done it on a case-by-case basis when some cases arose and they were pretty evident.
“We’ve done it with individual broadcasters. We’ve done it as well with our host broadcast services,” he concluded.
He further instructed that Fifa will take actions against things that are wrong, like zooming in on hot wags at the football tournaments.
According to Addiechi, such things have led to female reporters being grabbed on the breasts or kissed live on air.
Several other female fans have been reported to be harassed on the streets in celebration. Such cases will be minimized as they happen as laws will be set by FIFA.
