VIDEO: Nicki Minaj Adds Ghanaian Singer On Her Europe Tour

American superstar, Niki Minaj has recognized the incredible talent of Ghanaian singer, Nana Fofie and has subsequently added her to her Europe tour which kick-started on March 25.

In case the name Nana Fofie doesn’t ring a bell; she’s a singer who rose to fame on social media following her numerous cover videos on her YouTube channel.

Her talent apparently caught the attention of “Anaconda” hitmaker. Nicki was actually spotted jamming to Nana’s cover song on Instagram and gave her a shout out in her comment section.

And now, Nana Fofie is on her tour. “IT IS HAPPENING! #nickiwrldtour,” she announced her first performance which took place in Amsterdam on March 25.

The fast rising star later shared a backstage photo with Nicki, heaping praises on her for the opportunity.

“I wish that i could have this moment for life.” Dear @nickiminaj thank you for a life changing moment and opening all these doors.

You are so sweet and genuine such an inspiration. I’ll take your loving words on board and i’ll never forget what you said…thankin you aint enough!!! #nickiwrldtour [sic],” she said on Instagram.

Nicki Minaj responded by saying she is talented. “Thank you for performing, my love. Wishing you all the best. So TALENTED,” Nicki wrote.

Fofie is based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

She credits her “major musical background” for her deep passion for music starting at age 5.

Her cover of Runtown’s ‘Mad Over You’ produced by K.I.D.D. Production garnered some 100, 000 views in its first week of release. It has over 4.6 million views currently.

Fofie’s mash up of Mr. Eazi’s ‘Leg Over’ currently has over 2.1 million views.

Her biggest inspirations are her late father and Lauryn Hill. Her music style is blending European and African sounds in a unique way.

Labels including Universal Music Group have expressed interest in working her.

She is said to be working on a new EP.

Fofie started the Fofie Foundation to her aid her father’s vision of supporting orphans in her native country, Ghana. She has three other siblings.
